Do you have any idea what damage Nigel Swaby has done to the reputation of the entire profession with his recent behavior?
Nigel Swaby brings shame to your industry. He is nothing but an unscrupulous media hound. Please google Mr/ Swaby for his easily disputable (and thoroughly disputed) commentary virtually everywhere he goes. Then please visit DHC (please visit exurbannation.blogspot.com for the link) to find out what kind of person Nigel Swaby really is.
Does this mean Nigel is NOT going to be winning any awards?
He works hand in hand with admitted mortgage fraudster Casey Serin.
His articles get every little minutae of the economic landscape wrong.
He outs innocent posters due to the fact they post on boards where his enemies are located.
He moderates admitted fraudster Serin's message board.
He cannot handle a fair minded debate.
Nigel Swaby is a gay man... not that there's anything wrong with that!!
Please, please, please don't revoke Nigel's last blog carnival award. He's so very proud of it, and it's all he has. Ignore these haters, they just like to make trouble. Nigel has enough trouble already to worry about these days without being harassed.
nigel is my hero, but hey im an a55h0le!
Nigel Swaby is being investigated by Federal and state agencies for involvement with Casey Serin. Nobody that has personal and business connections with con-artist should be respresenting our industry. We're getting enough bad press now as it is.
Please reconsider who you are getting involved with here.
Nigel Swaby, fully aware of Serins many frauds, worked very hard to associate himself with Serin and formulate a partnership. Apparently the chance to make a few dollars meant more than his career and reputation.
Why would anyone get involved personally and professionally with someone obviously committing multiple counts of fraud? The only answer I can come up with is they must be a fraud themselves.
No honest person would even think of getting near Serin, let alone form a business relationship with him. Yet here you have Nigel hanging out with Serin in restaurants, attempting to hammer out a deal that will provide him a cut of the take from Serins fraud.
What's wrong with this picture? Nigel Swaby has scammed the professional community here. He's misrepresented himself all the while cutting deals with scam-artists in shady circumstances.
Nigel Swaby has been so reckless in his desire for fame and fortune that he's taken chances even most other criminals would be smart enough to avoid. He's now ended up on the radar of the FBI and several other government agencies. It's only a matter of time until he gets raided.
Everyone, and certainly this community would serve themselves well to dissolve any dealings they have with Nigel Swaby.
I would have to agree with Rob. Nigel's behaviour on his various blogs (and there are numerous, and probably more that are not linked to his profile) has been unprofessional. How can potential clients be reassured that he will not sell or otherwise publicize their personal information, much like he did over at DHC? I would suggest you take a hard look at his various posts there over the past few weeks, and ask yourself if this is what you expect of a professional in your industry.
On top of that, he openly posted that he was willing to go into a business deal with Mr. Serin - someone who has admitted to committing mortgage fraud.
Again, ask yourself: is this the sort of behaviour you want representing your industry?
Why on earth would I waste my time using the services of a real estate 'professional' like Nigel Swaby who spends so much time obsessing over SEO optimization and blog comments and birddogging traffic from other websites when I could hire some one who has actual expertise in buying and selling real estate?
Guess who *shouldn't* get the ultimate award in your profession, namely commissions on properties bought & sold?
Nigel Swaby calls himself a "successful real estate investor".
How many deals has he personally done? I'll give you a hint - somewhere between 0 and 1.
Once again he's misrepresented himself.
No one should take RE advice from someone who hangs out with Casey Serin and has selling Olympic pins on his resume.
Outstanding blog!
